I spent 2 years in the Merchant Navy working for Bibby Bros. of Liverpool and spent about 18 months of that time aboard ship (3 different cargo ships). During this time I traveled to a lot of places I would not have got to see otherwise. Some of the highlights were Japan, Singapore/Malaysia, Hong Kong (when it was still British), Brazil, and various European ports. Some of the lowlights were Port Talbot, the Persian Gulf and Karachi.

After leaving Bibby's I worked at the following companies:

• Bristol-Myers - from 1977 to 1987 in the Slough area and then in Cramlington, Northumberland
• AMK Plastics - from 1987 to 1988 in Llantrisant near Cardiff, Wales.
• Sauter Automation - from 1988 to 1991 in Slough then near Basingstoke.
• I then did freelance Quality Consultancy for around 5 years based in Burnham, Buckinghamshire.
• Tetra Ltd - from 1997 to present in Maidenhead. Tetra was bought by Sage around 2001. I am still there and work in Winnersh near Reading.

My top pastime for the past few years is photography. I'll update a photo gallery page on this site as and when I remember to do so. I am a member of Maidenhead Camera Club. Click here to go to my gallery.

I play squash and badminton regularly.

I used to race sailing dinghies.

I am a Chelsea FC member and try to get to as many home games as possible. I have supported the blues since the mid 1960's.

I have been a member of the MG Car Club since about 1976 and have owned quite a few MG's. In June 2009 I bought my first Lotus and joined SELOC. Details on the Car page. 

I have raced in the Halfords Midget series and the Moss BCV8 series (although I would not claim to have been any good in either - good fun all the same).
